The Belchautara 5 MW Solar Power Project stands as a landmark achievement in Nepal’s renewable energy landscape, being the first private party power purchase agreement project in the country.

Developed and executed by REnergo Developers, this grid-connected solar photovoltaic system was completed in 2019 for Solar Farm Pvt Ltd, a consortium of Non-Resident Nepalis and Dolma Impact Fund. The project was delivered fully turnkey, encompassing engineering, procurement, and construction, as well as comprehensive operation and maintenance services. Adhering rigorously to International Finance Corporation standards, the project sets a benchmark for quality, sustainability, and financial viability.

This installation not only contributed clean, reliable power to the national grid but also demonstrated the viability of private investment in Nepal’s solar sector, paving the way for future growth in sustainable energy development.
